PRESIDENTIAL REFLECTIONS
March has always been my favorite month. To me March means spring, February means winter. I for one have never been so glad to see February in the rear view mirror. Especially this February with the recent deep freeze and the widespread damage done to utilities, flora and fauna, not to mention our fractured sense of collective self-confidence already tender after a year of this pandemic.
March brings the onset of springtime in Central Texas, the annual renewal of much of what makes this area so special and beautiful. March is a time of anticipation and eagerly looking forward to what is to come. This is true in the natural environment all around us, in our own personal lives, as well as the life of our church.
It is no coincidence that the Lenten season encompasses the month of March. This spring I look forward to enhanced opportunities for us to re-gather in person for worship. I anticipate welcoming a new Youth and Family Minister into our church family, as well as real progress in our Building to Bless journey. I consider it a privilege to serve as your council president this year, and anticipate wondrous events ahead as we march into spring together. Bruce
