St. Peter's Family,
There have been numerous emails and organizations identified who are coordinating help for those impacted by the recent flooding across the Hill Country - all signs of God's grace among us. The ways to help are fluid, but we wanted to provide a current short-list of resources and ways you can specifically join in being the presence of God in the relief efforts happening in Kerr and Burnet Counties, and across the Hill Country.
One of the best ways to make a major impact immediately and over the long-term is by giving to the Southwestern Texas Synod Disaster Fund (which provides immediate relief) or our ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response (which provides long-term response and recovery).
Giving to our St. Peter's Alms Fund is one way we as St. Peter's offer immediate support to families in need in our community, which now includes those recovering from the flood.
The Ark (previously The Highland Lakes Crisis Network) is a great local organization to sign-up if you want to help in-person in some way - through volunteering at their main location in Marble Falls with food distribution, being part of a muck-out team, receiving and organizing donations, and general help.
